Strategy 2023

Schmidt Group continues to grow and invest and is confident about the future, despite some headwinds from an inflationary 2023 and a highly competitive market. Against this challenging backdrop, we have focused on the core of our business objective: to be successful in terms of sales volumes and consumers. Thanks to the commitment and agility of the entire Extended Enterprise, we have shown resilience in adapting to new situations and ended the year with results we can be proud of. Our dynamic territorial coverage, our international expansion, our conquest of new channels and the transformation of our sales methods: all these actions taken in the service of the business are proving successful, enabling us to consolidate our position as leader in home improvement.

Ambition 2024

Our main business objective for the coming year is to maintain our level of performance and volume in a market that will become even tighter. By continuing to work on territorial coverage, sales methods, the simplification of tools and numerous other business levers, Schmidt Groupe is staying on course and moving closer to its ambitious strategic objectives in a spirit of commitment and ever-stronger social responsibility.

International development

International development is a strategic challenge for Schmidt Groupe, whose ambition is to become the European economic leader recognised for its positive impact. Expansion in Spain, a new Schmidt UK website, talent recruitment, bi-annual digital and physical conventions in the subsidiaries: a fast-paced year without borders.
  • 900th shop opens in Castellón, Spain
Created 18 years ago, the Spanish subsidiary continues to grow. The country now boasts 85 shops, 12 of which are due to open in 2023 – proof of the company’s dynamic expansion. The 27 employees of the Spanish subsidiary, supported by the teams at the Alsace head office, work every day to expand the territorial footprint, revitalise the existing network and consolidate the image of the Schmidt brand. The opening of the Castellón shop in November 2023 will bring the Group’s total number of sales outlets to 900, illustrating its ambition to pursue its development and strengthen its presence on the European market.
  • Responding to international ambitions with dedicated teams
Adapting our offers, processes and organisations to the specific characteristics of each country is a key challenge if we are to better meet market expectations. This is the aim of a number of concrete actions being taken in 2023:
  • The launch of a new Schmidt UK website: the tool responds precisely to the expectations of consumers in the UK. Design, navigation and content have been specifically adapted to improve visibility, traffic and conversion rates in a highly competitive market.
  • Bi-annual conventions: these are key meetings with the network of international partners. The aim is to hold regular meetings to share our ambitions and co-construct agile, high-performance action plans.

And what about the international scene in 2024?

Schmidt Groupe will continue to support its local network in order to accelerate its development in Spain, the United Kingdom and Germany as well as in high-potential areas such as Belgium, the Netherlands and Scandinavia, where there are still many areas to be covered!
